Dear Parents:

Almost 2000 years ago, the Apostles of the Lord Jesus received the Holy Spirit during the Feast of Pentecost.  On February 2, most of our 8^th grade students will receive the Holy Spirit through the Sacrament of Confirmation.  The consequences of receiving the gifts of the Holy Spirit are beyond our human understanding.  Ezekiel, in the Old Testament, pointed out this truth.  Later on, St. Peter spoke about it too.

We, at Sts. Peter and Paul School, believe that the best way to receive the Holy Spirit is in a prayerful, deep silence so as to feel His presence within us.  In this way, we will begin to learn that the Spirit speaks to us and directs us in ways that do not often coincide with what we think are our needs or our truths, but at the end they always work out to our advantage.  Therefore, we congratulate all the Confirmandi of the Parish, especially our 8^th grade students, and we hope that they will be filled with the Holy Spirit.

The Most Reverend Bishop Agustin Roman will be conferring the Sacrament of Confirmation to our students on

February 2, 2010.

Estimados Padres:

Hace casi 2000 años, los apóstoles de nuestro Señor Jesucristo recibieron al Espíritu Santo durante fiesta de Pentecostes.  El 2 de febrero, la mayoría de nuestros estudiantes del octavo grado recibirán al Espíritu Santo a través del Sacramento de la Confirmación.  Las consecuencias de recibir los dones del Espíritu Santo van mas allá de nuestro entendimiento humano.  Ezequiel, en el Antiguo Testamento, nos señaló esta verdad.  Mas tarde, San Pedro habló de esto tambien.

Nosotros, en la escuela Sts. Peter and Paul, creemos que la mejor manera de recibir al Espíritu Santo es orando en silencio profundo para así sentir su presencia dentro de nosotros.  De esta manera, aprenderemos que el Espíritu nos habla y nos dirige de maneras que no siempre coinciden con lo que nosotros pensamos son nuestros deseos y nuestras verdades, pero que al final es para nuestro bien.   Por eso, felicitamos a todos los Confirmandi de nuestra parroquia, especialmente a nuestros alumnos de 8vo. Grado, y esperamos que se llenen del Espíritu Santo.

El Obispo Reverendo Agustín Román vendrá a conferir el Sacramento de la Confirmación a nuestra parroquia el 2 de febrero del 2010.
